When Sean and I set out piano shopping, we expected to buy a nice, well-made, factory-built piano—a Yamaha, maybe, or a Kawai.

December has been a spotty month here on my blog.

The past couple of weeks have been difficult, as several members of my family have been hospitalized with serious health concerns.

When I arrived at work Monday morning, my in-box (well, in-chair—books and manuscripts are too bulky for a mere box) was piled several feet high, and when I finally left that day, I’d hardly made a dent in the stack.

Sean and I both have had difficult summers at work, and now, at last, we’re taking a much-deserved, much-needed break to reclaim our sanity: a week in Northern California.

Those of you who check my blog regularly may be frustrated by how scarce my posting has been over the past month or so, but believe me, you’re not nearly as frustrated as I am.

My postings here have become sporadic and delayed of late, and I want to explain.

As regular readers will note, Much Review About Nothing has a fresh look!

I’m always thrilled to have family visiting (this time it’s Mom and Dad and Grandpa), but it does cause delays in writing, and I end up posting something like this as a feeble explanation.

Regular readers (hi, Mom!) will notice the unusually long absence between entries.
