It is snowing outside—and not watery “wintry mix” flakes, either. Big fat snowflakes are falling thick and fast, and they’re starting to stick to the tree branches and fire escapes outside our window. What the hell? It is October. I’m not done with autumn, my favorite season in New York. This had better be a fluke. I expect a return of brisk, sunny days in the 50s and 60s next week, damn it!

Much Review About Nothing 
I hope for your sake that the early snow was a fluke, and doesn’t represent the onset of an especially long (and hard) winter. What are the signs? Have all the ducks in Central Park departed? Are the little squirrels especially furry this season?
