Happy Thanksgiving

Sean and I are spending Thanksgiving with his family in South Carolina, so for the next few days, I won’t have much to post in my “cultural diary of my life in New York.” We’re enjoying our time here, though. It had been entirely too long since we last visited, and it’s good to spend time with Sean’s family. Besides, our hosts live in the country, and though I’ve grown accustomed to the muffled sounds of car horns and sirens and passers-by outside our bedroom window, I must admit that the sheer silence of the nighttime here is a welcome treat.
